I’m a graphic designer located in San Diego, CA. I’ve recently completed my Associate’s Degree in graphic design at MiraCosta College, and an internship in graphic design at the non-profit Plant With Purpose. I’m proficient in Adobe products: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro. I’m familiar with Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, WordPress, Excel and Word, I type 95 WPM, and can work on PC or MAC. I also dabble in photography, and two of my photographs were chosen to be included in my college art book in 2016 (out of 200 submissions from students and staff).
I really enjoy listening to music and going to concerts. My first concert was New Kids on the Block in 1991. Some of my favorite concerts have been: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Tori Amos, Bjork, PJ Harvey, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, and Robert Plant. I love animals and have always had lots of pets – currently 2 cats, 1 dog, and 1 turtle. I like to wander around in nature and I’m a literal tree hugger (my favorite is the giant sequoia). I generally like to read non-fiction and watch science documentaries, particularly about paleoanthropology or ancient geological periods. I also have a small fossil collection that I keep in my curio cabinet.
Since my teenage dream of becoming a famous musician didn’t work out, I went to school to become a preschool teacher. That career lasted over 10 years, and 4 of those years were spent running my own home daycare business. I decided to go back to school, this time to become a graphic designer in order to express my creative side. Transitioning into graphic design has been exciting and a dream come true. I had done some freelance graphic design projects as far back as 2008, but now I’m looking forward to working full time in graphic design as my permanent career.
